Joseph Dougherty is a member of the Firm's Government Relations, Health Law, and Labor and Employment Practices. He represents the interests of a variety of clients before the Legislature, Executive Branch and New York State and Federal Courts.

Prior to joining Hinman Straub, Mr. Dougherty was a legal intern at the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) in their Department of Managed Care and participated in a clinical legal studies program within the Department of Health's Bureau of Medicaid Fraud.

While enrolled at Albany Law School, Mr. Dougherty was the secretary of the International Law Society and was a quarterfinalist in the Karen McGovern Senior Prize Trials and Gabrielli Appellate Advocacy Moot Court competitions. Mr. Dougherty is also a member of the Albany Bar Association and American Health Lawyers Association.
