Donna Cole Paul is a member of the Firm's Estate and Financial Planning and Corporate Law Departments. Prior to joining Hinman Straub, Ms. Paul worked as an Associate Attorney for a small firm focusing on elder law, trusts and estates, real estate, corporate and litigation.

Ms. Paul serves as the Town Attorney for the Town of Sand Lake. In this appointed position, she represents the Town on various municipal and employment related issues as well as prosecuting traffic matters on behalf of the New York State Troopers. Ms. Paul also works as a part-time county attorney for the Rensselaer County Department of Unified Family Services-Department for the Aging. In this capacity, Ms. Paul is the assigned attorney for two senior centers in the county and is responsible for providing free legal advice to seniors on topics such as civil disputes, collections, estate planning, elder law, real estate and Medicaid/Medicare.

Ms. Paul is an active volunteer and participates in several not-for-profit groups throughout the Capital District. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Trusts & Estates and Elder Law Section); Women's Bar Association of the State of New York; Albany County Bar Association and Capital District Women's Bar Association. Additionally, Ms Paul is a chair person for the Rensselaer County TRIAD organization, who through a coordinated effort of law enforcement officials, county officials and individuals from the community, promotes the health, safety and prevention of fraud against seniors.
