A unique feature of our education practice is that we provide extensive government relations advice and advocacy before state agencies, the Legislature, the Governor’s Office and the Division of the Budget for our clients in both the Elementary/Secondary as well as Higher Education areas. Our diverse range of experience allows us to employ a sophisticated approach to our clients' needs to assist them in meeting their institutional goals. Elementary/Secondary Education In the area of elementary/secondary education, we assist clients in a wide range of areas, including developing policies for the establishment of both public and private schools and drafting and negotiating a number of agreements necessary for the operation of a school, including, but not limited to, education management contracts. In addition, we guide clients through a wide range of regulatory requirements as well as the intricacies of securing commercial financing to ensure their long-term institutional security. Higher Education We represent a range of higher education clients including public and private institutions of higher learning. We advocate for critical state funding and provide policy implementation advice when new laws and/or regulations are enacted. We also advise clients on the tax implications of their actions and assist them in complying with federal, state and local guidelines when public funding is involved.
